Have been coming to the Weboggle site since March '08 and am so appreciative of the changes that have been made since then, but my biggest concern is the integrity of the dictionary. IMHO, there is really nothing more important for a boggle game than the dictionary. There are so many words not listed (plurals, superlatives, comparatives, etc.) and so many included that shouldn't be (proper nouns, abbreviations, acronyms, etc.). It is frustrating as a player to NOT get those 11 points for larger words and to see others get the 11 points for 'illegal' words. Also, as a mod who as has done much work on the Suggested Word List, it will be never-ending. I am asking admin to please change the programming for the dictionary to something such as the ENABLE2K list or other list/program that is specifically meant for online word games such as boggle. I don't believe on a site like this that a dictionary with definitions is necessary it’s already out there on the web just a proper word list that still can be edited to include possible colloquialisms and such that might not be included in that list. I have seen on other sites that when you click on a word for the definition, it will link you to a site such as thefreedictionary.com. I don't know much about programming, but maybe not including the definition portion, you would free up server resources. Also, starting fresh would eliminate the storage for the words that have already been suggested. If other players have any thoughts or suggestions regarding the dictionary, PLEASE post something. Thanks and happy boggling all! |

Well Said! Marla... very well said. I couldn't agree more, and I can't think of any other comments other than... WEBoggle --> Listen to Marla! ( and also, thank you for a brilliant site ) |

Dictionary Update a MUST Hello Admin. This is an ongoing, every game frustration for all who care about having legitimate words. There are too many personal pronouns, and not enough legitimate words. We need to see the "ed's" and the plural forms of words added as well. Marla - thanks for starting this. As all of us Moderators know, we can do NOTHING without admins help here, nothing. This is a constant complaint of players, including new players, and I fear we have lost potential new players from it as well. Best of luck Admin. |

Total agreement Thank you Marla for saying what many of us are thinking and just don't take the time to bring up these Very important issues. Hope the admins take the time and effort to consider everything you said. |

agreed Well said Marla, couldn't agree more, hopefully what you have suggested will be implemented. It is terribly frustrating to find a word and then it's not allowed/in the dictionary yet some words that are allowed, shouldn't be. |

Ditto the above I would also like to see the dictionary issue addressed. I think Marla has some great ideas, and I agree that it can be very frustrating not getting credit for the longer words. Especially since quite a few players are now playing 6 letters or more. Thanks for all the great work you guys do admin. |

Dictionary update please! I completely agree with what Marla has said and think it would be a timely amendment to what is, as we can all testify, a truly fun and addictive game. I have spent some time updating the word list but the task is so daunting (the list just gets bigger and bigger and bigger) that I have to confess I don't feel I have the time to put in the amount of work that's required. And yes, it is SO disappointing to miss out on those big fat juicy 11 points when you know you've found a genuine word but have lost out just because it doesn't happen to be in the list. I love this game and I love what you have done with it over time. I appreciate this must be a big demand of your time but feel it would really add to the enjoyment and attraction of weboggle if the dictionary list was updated as per Marla's excellent suggestion. Thanks Admin - hope you don't feel we're getting at you because we LOVE this game!! |

Inconsistency... Just played a game where some players were awarded points for 'custards' and some were not - including me! Having checked the dictionary, it appears 'custards' is there so it's strange that a computerised dictionary should behave so arbitrarily???!! Can you please investigate Admin - thank you x |

inconsistency I agree with all of the posts above; the dictionary is extremely frustrating and inconsistent. I also agree with Queen in that I've played a number of games too where some players were awarded points for a word, and others not. |

Custards Queen - in the 'Recently Added' word list, custards was done on Sun. @ 9:34 am, 10 mins before your post. The Suggest Word list is a last in, first out type list, so a mod working on it could do the first word on the list even while that game is still in progress so that is why some players could get credit and others not. |

which dictionary? May I ask what dictionary is used? There are soooo many words that I haven't been able to find in any dictionary at all. Most of these word are listed under 'words nobody got' after the game. I can see why 'nobody got' them (lol ) I'm new here, so I'm trying to understand how it all works? |
